 |
Organisation: |
The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) |
Comments: |
The Professional Peer Support network is a joint initiative between RACGP and beyondblue to trial a peer support network to improve health and wellbeing amongst health professionals and prevent burnout. This research trial started in 2007 in Victoria. Doctors meet regularly in small groups (two to eight peers) at regular intervals to provide professional, social and emotional support to each other. There is common training for medical practitioners who wish to lead groups and common support services for those group leaders and referral points for participants who seek further assistance. |
