This course focuses on the unique issues that require consideration when caring for a younger woman diagnosed with early breast cancer. Concerns include premature menopause, fertility and sexuality issues, and role functions that may be impacted - such as partnering, caring for young children, education and employment issues.

On completion of this module, you will be able to:

  • demonstrate appropriate investigation and management of a younger woman presenting with a breast symptom
  • understand the physical and psychosocial issues relevant to a younger woman facing a diagnosis of, or undergoing treatment for early breast cancer
  • describe appropriate follow-up care for a younger woman with early breast cancer in the primary care setting
